DIY: Summer Treats!

Are you bored at home? Do you want to eat something that you’ve never ate before that will make your taste buds explode?

Or if your too lazy to go to the closest grocery store and buy popsicles (A.K.A ME) then you’ve come to the right place!

Because today I’ll be showing you how to make summer treats with things that you have at home! (Well, some ingredients you may not have.)

Ummm, anyways, let’s make some delicious treats!

Treat #1: DIY FROZEN YOGURT POPSICLES

This one, is so easy. All you need is:

-A cup of flavored yogurt (if it’s plain you won’t enjoy it as much) (it can be any brand: like chobani or yoplait)

-Dixon Cups or Foam Cups (Dixon Cups is just a brand, there are many cups just like it that you can get, it’s just a popular brand)

-Aluminum Foil

-Popsicle Sticks

Grab your cups and dump all your yogurt. Then, put the aluminum foil on top of your cups. (Make sure your aluminum foil is wrapped around the rim.) Then take your popsicle stick and crash it down in the aluminum foil. Make sure it’s through the yogurt. Then pop it in the freezer! This will take about 5-6 hours to freeze because yogurt is more thicker than liquid.

Treat #2: DIY FROZEN GUMMY BEARS POPSICLES

This one, is practically the bomb.

It’s the same process for Treat #1, but instead you pour sprite and dump your gummy bears. It doesn’t matter which one goes first. You will also have to pop it in the freezer for about 2-3 hours. Maybe even less, or more. Depends if you use a popsicle tray or cups.

Treat #3: DIY FROZEN GUMMY WORMS POPSICLES

This one, is also, the bomb.

Same process for Treat #1 and 2, but instead you pour any type of lemonade and dump your gummy worms. It doesn’t matter if it’s sour or not, but it’s mostly preferred to get sour gummy worms. Pop it in the freezer for the same time as Treat #2.

Treat #4: DIY BROWNIE/COOKIE ICE CREAM SANDWICH

THIS ONE, IS EVEN THE BIGGER BOMB.

What you will need is:

-Any type of cookie you like

-Brownies

-Any type of ice cream you would like

Cut the cookie and brownie in any shape you would like. JUST MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE SAME SHAPE.  This isn’t a hard thing to do. (Just do it with a knife of a butter knife.) Then on your cookie put a scoop of your desired ice cream flavor. Then put your brownie on top of the ice cream and squish them together. Then BAM! You got the most delicious treat ever!

Treat #5: DIY WHIPPED CREAM AND STRAWBERRIES

Ok, I’m pretty sure everyone does this, but if not, just try it out!

All you have to do is mix strawberries and whipped cream together! And you’ll love it!

Treat #6: DIY SPICE-UP-YOUR-WATER!

All you need is:

-Water

-Glass

-Slices of Lemon, Lime, Kiwi, and Cucumbers.

Grab your glass and dump your water in it. Slice lemon, lime, kiwi, and cucumbers. Put your slices in the water and mix it. The slices will blend into your water, making a weird color. And it will make you enjoy your water!

And that’s all! See you!

The New Girl (Chapter 11)

“Sarah? Hello?” I heard a voice.

“Ugh, leave me alone, Mom!” I said as I pushed an arm away while my eyes were closed. “I don’t want to go to school!”

Then an arms shook me. “I’m not your Mom. I’m Jack!”

“Haha, nice joke Mom. Just give me 5 minutes then I’ll get up.”

Then I heard footsteps that were fading away. Then I fell asleep again.

………

Then I woke up in a cold sweat when Icy Cold Water was poured down on my head. I gasped as I had a shocked expression on my face. Then I saw Jack. I screamed. Then I remembered, I’m in a time machine. I looked at Jack angrily. I got up, and kicked his shin.

“OW!!” He groaned in pain as he grabbed his shin and started rubbing it.

“Awwww.” I said sweetly. “Too bad you didn’t grab ice from the water you poured on me earlier to help your ugly shin!”

He glared at me while rubbing his shin. I gave him a little smirk.

“So.” I said as I got up. “Where are we again?”

“San Francisco. 6 am. 65 million years into the past. Happy?”

“Heck yeah I am. So, where will we live? Well, for now.”

“Ha, I have no idea yet.” Jack said as he opened the door of the time machine. “Actually, that’s what I’m going to figure out right now.” Then he pointed to the door and I approached it.

“This is just perfect.” I sighed and walked out the door.

Me and Jack ended up in a street of hotels.

There was the Star Hotel, which was fancy but very expensive.

There was the Peregrine Hotel, which was ok (I guess) but less expensive, but still pretty expensive.

Then there was the Slope Hotel, which was horrible but very cheap.

“So, which hotel?” Jack said.

“I prefer the Peregrine Hotel.” I said as I stared at it. “But before we go and get a room, I need to use a bathroom. And we need to buy snacks or a meal before I starve to death.”

“Well..” Jack said. “First of all, toilets aren’t made yet here. We have a toilet in the time machine though. Second of all, there’s no stores here. You need to buy stuff on the streets.”

I sighed. “Wait for me. I’ll go use the bathroom.”

I came out of the time machine and saw Jack looking hungry while staring at the food that was being sold on the streets a few blocks away.

“You know, your not the only one who’s starving.” I said as I starred at him.

He rolled his eyes and said, “Whatever. Like I didn’t know that. Anyways… that little shop over there looks good.” He said as he pointed there. “Let’s go check that out.”

We both went there and bought a pineapple, a watermelon, 2 pieces of sugarcane, a loaf of bread, and a few apples.

“5 pieces of coal, please. Or a gold nugget.” The kind salesman said.

I stared at Jack and he stared back at me. Shoot. We didn’t have either of those. That’s when the salesman stared at our clothes in shock.

“Mister and Miss! What are you wearing? My eyes will become blind!”

Me and Jack rolled our eyes. That’s when I had the greatest idea.

“Pardon me.” I said kindly. Jack stared at me like I was crazy. “I am sorry if my clothes trouble you. This is the latest fashion I have made myself! And for my dearest brother.” I said as I put my hand on Jack’s shoulder. Jack froze as he bit his nails nervously. “Also, I do not have coal or gold nuggets at the moment. But I do have this.” I pull out a Dollar Bill from my back pocket.

The salesman stares at it in shock as his eyes grow wide. “Why, I have never seen such thing! M-Ma’am! What is this… thing?”

“This, is called a dollar bill.” I say as I smile. “It is a very rare piece of paper which can be a souvenir of the United States!” I lied (kind of) as I show a fake smile. “It was created in 1862.”

“What is 1862?”

“You will know soon.” I say as I give him the dollar. “Enjoy.”

I grabbed Jack by the arm and grabbed the fruit as we headed to the hotel.

“How did you pull that off?” He asked.

“It’s called acting. Maybe you should try it sometime instead of just standing there with your whole body frozen!” I shouted at him.

“Whatever.” He said. “Let’s go inside.”

“Where else are we going?” I asked him.

He rolled his eyes angrily and walked fast towards the hotel.

“Ha. He gets mad easily.” I whisper to myself as I run towards the hotel.

D.I.Y: The Easiest Slime Recipes!

Hi! Today I will be showing you one of the most easiest slime recipes there is. Some of the recipes you may need to go and buy, some of them you might have at home.

Slime Recipe #1

This recipe is probably the easiest recipe of all of these recipes. Is water an ingredient? If not, this is just a 1-ingredient slime.

All you need is:

  • A bowl
  • Something to stir with (or your hands)
  • Water
  • Cornstarch

All you really need to do is dump some cornstarch into the bowl, then add some water, and mix. Keep mixing until you have the right consistency you want.

Slime Recipe #2

This is a 3-ingredient slime recipe. And recently I made this recipe.

All you need is:

  • A bowl
  • Something to stir with (or your hands)
  • Glue
  • Shaving Foam
  • Eye Drops

First you grab your bowl and pour the amount of glue you would like. Then you add the shaving foam. (WARNING: Make sure you DO NOT add too much shaving foam or else the slime will be too sticky to play with.) Then mix. Then you add about 3-4 drops of eye drops in the mixture. Then you mix again. It will be sticky at first, but the more you play with it the less sticky it will get. If it’s WAY TOO sticky, add a couple more eye drops.

Slime Recipe #3

This is a 2-ingredient slime recipe. (HINT: Most people do not recommend this slime recipe because there is most likely a small amount of slime you will create. Depends on how much nail polish you plan to use. It is recommended to use a few bottles of nail polish. I know, right? -.-)

All you need is:

  • A bowl
  • Something to stir with (or your hands. NOT recommended to do.)
  • Olive Oil, Cooking Oil, or Vegetable Oil. (For most people Cooking Oil works best.)
  • Nail Polish

Pour your oil into the bowl. Pour your nail polish on top. Mix the nail polish slowly in the bowl until your nail polish that you poured turns into a slime consistency you want.

Slime Recipe #4

This is a 3-ingredient slime recipe. This is an Edible Starburst Slime Recipe. It’s super easy!

All you need is:

  • A pan ( or anything else to melt starbursts in)
  • Something to stir with
  • A pack of starburst
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Cornstarch

First you need to dump all the starburst into a pan. Put the pan on the stove and melt it until it goes into a sticky consistency. Then you add cornstarch. Mix it. Then you have to do the same thing with the powdered sugar. Then it will be like a butter slime or a soft consistency.

For exact measurements and another way to make this sllime, go and check it out here: The Edible Starburst Slime Recipe.

Slime Recipe #5

Remember one of my posts that talked about Edible Ice Cream Play Dough? It’s also now considered edible slime! Check my post here: Edible Ice Cream Play Dough!

That’s all for now! Comment down below if you ever made these recipes and if you liked it! And if it is one of the Edible Slime recipes, comment down below how it felt and taste! Goodbye for now!

SBC10: Farewell From The Challenge.

Today I will be answering questions about the blog. Like a Q & A.

  • How many posts did you write?
  • – I have wrote 29 posts so far and I’m happy that I did and during the summer I will continue writing posts.
  • How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge?
  • – 6 were based on the school, 6 was from my own interest, and 17 were based on the Student Blogging Challenge.
  • How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students?
  • – I received about 10 comments from classmates, 4 from overseas, (I’m sure this is wrong I remember getting at least 10, I do not know why It isn’t in my comments section.) and 12 comments from teachers.
  • Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened?
  • – I mostly got more comments on my “All About Me.” post with 6 comments. But many posts that I posted have 4 comments. I think that I got many comments on “All About Me.” because there were many questions I was asked that I had to respond to.
  • Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?
  • – My latest post on my story the New Girl, the post is called, “The New Girl (Chapter 10) – The Best Post.” I enjoyed writing it because I typed as I expressed myself about The Time Machine in the chapter.
  • Did you change blog themes at all and why?
  • – Nope. I only changed my background because I somehow lost my old one and I needed a new one anyways. I am happy with my theme because I love flowers and purple is my favorite color.
  • – How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough?
  • – 10 widgets. I think it’s too much. :p
  • How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll?
  •  – Only 5 students from the overseas.
  • Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog?
  • My beautiful designed theme and my beautiful designed background.

The End of this little Q & A. :p

The New Girl (Chapter 10)-The Best Post

I guess I’ll answer, I mean, I’ll just let him know I’m ok.

“Um, hello?”

“Sarah!” Jack shouted. “Are you ok? Thank god you picked up. I thought I lost you and something dangerous happened to you-”

“Chill!” I shouted. “I’m fine. I’m actually at home. And in my room.”

“Why did you go home?”

“Long story.”

“Ok… anyways, I need you to come back.”

“What? Why?”

“Just… come. Ok? Perry needs to talk to you.”

“Ok..”

I headed to the door trying to ignore my Mom. Apparently it worked. It looked like she wanted to say something. I headed to Perry’s house. When I opened the door (Why isn’t it locked?) Perry was standing there wearing everything that a scientist would wear.. and standing in front of a huge machine. Jack looked at Perry and Perry nodded, and Jack gave a thumbs up.

“What the-”

“Sarah.” Perry said. “This is a time machine.”

“How?? There is no such thing as a time machine! They.. are just only in the movies and in books.”

“There is no such thing because I have no idea if it will work. So you and Jack are testing it out by going in there from the last time period. You will be meeting, “The Girl.” Why? Because I have a feeling your different from all of them. And the one from the last time period might know what might be going on in this world. You will be there for a week.”

“A week?!” I gasped. “But I have school and my Mo-”

“Your Mom knows. I talked to her. We don’t have much time. You need to get in here. NOW.”

“But-”

Jack pushed me into the time machine. It was tall and round with probably a million buttons. Jack stepped in and entered where we were going.

“Where are we going?” I ask suspiciously.

“Right now we are in the Quaternary Period, so we are going to the last period which is the… Tertiary period. So, 65 million years ago in San Francisco.”

“WHAT??!!” I freaked. “Are you sure?! How can SFO be that old? It’s impossible!”

“Well apparently it is.” Jack said while confirming where to go. “Sit tight on those seats right there and make sure that your belt is fastened. Oh, also, you might black out or faint.”

“Ho-”

My voice disappeared with all the weird noises the machine was making. We were about to lift off. Jack quickly joined me and sat next to me with his seat belt fastened.

“See ya.” Jack winked.

“What do you mea-”

That’s when we lifted off and Jack already blacked out.

“Jack!” I screamed as I shook his arm. “Wake up!”

That’s when I started to get dizzy. As I got dizzy, I saw a vision of numbers swirling around. What was going on? Sweat was dripping from my forehead. I tried my best to not faint. But after a minute of trying, my eyes forced me to shut them.

The New Girl (Chapter 9)

It took me a while to walk to my house, but it didn’t bother me. I enjoyed the weather, especially the cool breeze that makes my hair blow into the air.

I approached home, grabbed my keys, and then opened the entrance door slowly.

“Mom?”

“Hmm?” Mom said as I found her in the kitchen cooking something.

“Hey.”

“How was school…?” Mom asked as she looked at me from my head to my toes. Dang it. I was covered in dust. This was my time to shine and tell her that I know everything that she has been hiding from me for years.

“Oh, kind of crazy.” I said as I sat on the chair (I didn’t care if dust went on the chair.) and gave her the evil stare. Mom got suspicious and stopped stirring in the pan.

“Sarah..” She looked at me and leaned over the counter. “You ok?”

“No, I’m not.”

“Aw, honey.” She walked to me and gave a hug. “What happened at school this time?”

“Why did you keep this secret away from me, huh?” I said as I pushed her hands off me.

“What?”

I screamed. Of course she thought I was crazy. “Sarah! What’s wrong?!”

“Oh, I don’t know.” I stared at her and then gave her the evil eye. “Huh, maybe I can see ghosts. Maybe I calmed down an angry ghost. Maybe I could change the world. Maybe I-”

“I get it, Sarah! Yes, your the girl, ok?! I hid the secret from you because I didn’t know what age I had to tell you! No matter how old you are, I knew you would never believe me!” She shouted.

“But, why couldn’t I see ghosts when I was younger?”

“I don’t know. I guess the power just comes when it wants to be used, when the power knows its the time that you can handle it.”

I didn’t say a word. I walked to my bedroom, and just flopped on my bed. I didn’t have any emotions at all. I didn’t feel anything. Until my phone rang.

I was deciding… do I have to answer?

SBC7: Activity 9

What are the disadvantages and advantages to being able to connect and communicate more easily? Let’s talk about that.

Advantages:

  • Communicating with others can help boost making friends. Making friends means that there is more support to you when it comes to difficult times.
  • Communicating with others can help you boost your shyness when it comes to talking with people that you have just met.
  • Communicating with people (like family and friends) far away from you is great with devices! Instead of sharing the phone with your family, you can get your own and privately talk to the people you love about situations that you aren’t comfortable to talk about with the family you live.

Disadvantages:

  • Communicating with people that you don’t know (example: strangers) can put you into a dangerous risk. For example, if you meet them in real life one day, they may do something dangerous to you and betray you. (Like enemies)
  • Communicating with the people that you communicate with might be a hacker and hack your social media! You never know.
  • You need to be careful of what pictures or messages you send to people online. People can access to your private things, and it can get all over the internet.

SBC7: Activity 1

The Student Blogging Challenge has recently posted 2 videos for Week 7.

If you would like to watch the videos, go here at: https://studentchallenge.edublogs.org/

I recommend you to watch these videos first before you read the post to understand what these videos were about. Because today we will be doing an Q and A post on these videos.

What are 2 ways the videos were similar?

1. Both videos are telling us to be careful of what you post.

Yup, it’s true! You should be careful of what you post and say on the internet. Private things can be shared, which can cause major trouble. For example, I’m about to post this post! I should make sure I’m not giving any personal and private information with all of you guys.

2. We always leave a mark.

Yup! We always leave a mark. What I mean is… whatever we touch will always leave a mark. For example, right now, I’m typing a post on a keyboard. My fingerprints on this keyboard can’t just disappear! I WILL leave a mark on this keyboard no matter what!

What are 2 ways the videos were different?

1. One shows a guy, and one doesn’t.

The Youth And Media video showed a guy that has been posting things mostly his whole life and shows that you should be careful. The Privacy Student Intro Video did not show a real-world person that had the same problem.

2. Both videos have a different setting.

The Youth And Media video shows a real-life problem that affects a person through life. The Privacy Student Intro Video shows facts listed.

That’s all for now! Goodbye!

Best Blog Post Ever: D.I.Y Edible Ice Cream Play Dough

Ok, today I’m doing something totally different than I usually do.

An awesome D.I.Y Edible Ice Cream Play Dough!

Yeah, I know, it might sound crazy but it actually works and it’s super easy. And all you need is 2 ingredients:

  • Store-brought frosting
  • Icing Sugar (also called powdered sugar)

From the online website, here is what the instructions say:

“I used less than a half container of frosting for each of these recipes and added about 3-5 cups of icing sugar to the frosting until it went from sticky to dry, moldable, and thick.”

Now, I’m not sure if you need to mix it, but after waiting for a while and the ingredients do not feel like play dough after waiting for a while, then you need to repeat this process and mix it so it can finally have a doughy texture.

You can also play with it too!

But it’s so good, that your taste buds will explode!

You have to try it one day! It tastes exactly like ice cream, with a awesome doughy texture!

Read more at: http://sugarspiceandglitter.com/edible-ice-cream-dough/

Don’t think that it will taste good? Maybe this will change your mind:

Don’t you just want to grab it and take a huge bite out of it?
